Bike maintenance courses

Bike maintenance sessions can be offered to your clients whether they have an upcoming employment opportunity or not. It helps them to become work-ready.

Our bike maintenance sessions are led by an expert instructor and teaches participants the skills to maintain their own bicycles. Bike maintenance courses can be structured over one, two or three sessions to suit.

Participants bring their own bike. We provide the tools for the job and the young people take some tools away so that they can continue to maintain their bike themselves, which is essential when commuting to training or employment.

The courses cover intermediate and beginner skills and can be run in sessions tailored to your client group. Generally courses cover the following:

  • Essential tools and maintenance tasks
  • Tyres and punctures
  • Brakes
  • Adjusting faulty gears

Cycle training

Cycle training can be offered to your clients whether they have an upcoming employment opportunity or not.

Fully accredited and insured cycle instructors provide cycle training sessions. They’ll help participants every step of the way, whether a complete beginner or if they’d just like to brush up on skills. One-to-one or small group sessions can be arranged.

We provide off-road and on road cycling and the different levels depend on ability – ranging from complete beginner through to the advanced cyclists. Everyone learns to cycle at different rates so we pace and plan instruction sessions to need. Typically a beginner might be riding comfortably in a few weeks but each training session is personalised. Even the most advanced cyclists can increase their confidence with skills such as cycling on busy roads being covered on our advanced courses.

Our training courses are adapted to suit all abilities. We have a wide range of sessions available, including training which is specifically designed to support people with restricted mobility or who may need additional support or specialist cycling equipment.

Requirements

  • Up to 6 people on a session or one-to-one sessions offered
  • We can provide bikes if organised in advance
